Dan is a Brisbane-based cellist who has studied the cello with Helen Holt, Matthew Farrell, Rosanne Hunt and Howard Penny. Primarily a chamber musician with a particular focus on historically informed performance of western art music.

Dan gives many concerts with various groups in various configurations. In 2006, Dan and his sisters Monica and Sarah formed the Veltheim Quartet, which has persisted to this day, despite the absence of a permanent violist. However, this is not the extent of his musical activity as he is fortunate enough to be involved in many diverse musical projects, whether as a cellist with Katie Noonan, a bass guitarist with Oxford Parker or a vocalist with his own contemporary group, Plub.
